Dr Nguyen obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Melbourne in 2001. She completed her internship and basic surgical training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. Dr Nguyen then obtained a postgraduate diploma in surgical anatomy at the University of Melbourne, whilst teaching anatomy to medical, dental and physiotherapy students.
She commenced her advanced surgical training in general surgery at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, before she moved to Perth to commence specialist training in plastic and reconstructive surgery. She obtained her fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in plastic and reconstructive surgery in 2010.
Dr Nguyen completed the prestigious aesthetic fellowship at The Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery, before returning to Perth to commence private practice, joining Sculpt Surgery and Redimed. She has presented at international and national conferences on her research into breast aesthetics, breast augmentation, labioplasty, lawn mower injuries, rural trauma, thromboprophylaxis in burns patients and leadership in medical students.
Dr Nguyen is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Western Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons.
She joined Sculpt and Redimed after returning from her fellowship. After almost 3 years with Sculpt and Redimed, she left the group to start up her own practice, where she will offer all the previous services to her patients plus more. Dr Anh consults from Hollywood Medical Centre in Nedlands and Mercy Medical Centre in Mt Lawley. She will commence consulting in Perth’s northern suburbs soon. Dr Anh operates at Hollywood Private, Joondalup Private and Mercy Hospitals.
Outside of a busy plastic surgery practice, Dr Nguyen’s other role is as a mother of young children. She feels being a mother has given her a lot of insight into and compassion and care.
Dr Nguyen believes that women should celebrate their achievements and be proud of their bodies. As a woman, she understands that women may feel insecure and unhappy with their appearance and this can have a negative impact on their self-esteem and confidence.
